Let’s celebrate Holy Martin

Today on November the 11th we celebrate Holy Martin.

The red wine San Martino is in fact dedicated to this festivity. After 3 months of drying process in our drying-room the Merlot raisins grapes are finally ready to be destemmed and soft pressed. After the fermentation this wine is aged in 18 months in small 228 liter French medium toasted oak barrels.

The result? Extremely intense nose of cherries preserved in liquor and redcurrants with overtones of vanilla and cocoa. The taste is finely balanced, rich in sweet tannins, well structured, elegant.

Considering its serving suggestions, San Martino is outstanding on its own as “meditation wine” at the end of the meal with some hardened mature cheese, but what if San Martino would be the real protagonist of your dinner?

Take a look at what Lidia and the chef Paola did while preparing a wonderful Risotto al Martino and don’t miss the full recipe at following link.
