A flurry of awards for Cavazza in international competitions

Cavazza wines have won important awards at Decanter, Concours Mondial de Bruxelles and 5 Star Wines competitions.

The Decanter Wine Award, whose 18th edition was held recently, is the most prestigious international event which is eagerly awaited by producers from all over the world. It is the most influential competition, judged by a panel of top wine experts that applies a rigorous judging process, thus ensuring extremely reliable judgments. Cavazza wines, at the Decanter Wine Award, won two prizes: a Silver medal for Corallo Tai Rosso Colli Berici Doc 2018 Cavazza and a Bronze medal for Fornetto Rosso Veneto IGT 2018.

CORALLO

Tai Rosso Colli Berici DOC

Tai Rosso (indigenous grape that only grows in Colli Berici area. Tai Rosso is a relative of Grenache)

Artisanal and limited produced, made with a local indigenous grape, handcrafted from specific single 1 ha (2.47 ac) small plots, facing south/southwest at an elevation of 180 m (590 ft).

FORNETTO

Rosso Veneto IGT

Special Cuvée of (50%) Merlot; (25%) Tocai Rosso; (25%) Syrah

Artisanal red blend. A limited production wine, handcrafted from the best and small single vineyard blocks of Merlot, Syrah and Tocai Rosso (indigenous local grape). The vineyards have an extension of 1.5 ha (3.7 ac) and face south/southwest, at an elevation of 180 m.

Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is one of the most prestigious international wine competitions. Each edition is held in a different country and, for more than twenty years, it has endeavoured to give consumers the opportunity to discover great quality wines from every part of the world at every price range. The jury is composed 300 professionals from 50 different countries. The competing wines are blind tasted without being influenced by their label or the prestige of the appellation. This year, at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, Cavazza was awarded two silver medals: Cabernet Cicogna Colli Berici Doc 2016 Cavazza and Merlot Cicogna Colli Berici Doc 2016 Cavazza.

CABERNET CICOGNA

Cabernet Sauvignon (growing in our area for more than 100 years)

A limited production wine harvested from meticulously selected small vineyard lots (3 ha/7.4 ac) on hilltops (190 m/623 ft) that are estate grown and carefully farmed. The grapes are handpicked and sorted at harvest time in order to create unique, artisan-style wines that reflect the craftsmanship involved in hands-on winemaking.

MERLOT CICOGNA

Merlot Colli Berici DOC

Merlot (growing in our area for more than 100 years)

A limited production wine harvested from meticulously selected small vineyard lots (3 ha/7.4 ac) on hilltops (190 m/623 ft) that are estate grown and carefully farmed. The grapes are handpicked and sorted at harvest time in order to create unique, artisan-style wines that reflect the craftsmanship involved in hands-on winemaking.

In the 2021 competition, also 5 Star Wines awarded Cavazza a prize. 5StarWines is the international tasting event organized by Veronafiere and Vinitaly International, which is held just before the largest international wine exhibition in the world: Vinitaly.  It is a three-day blind tasting, performed by professional tasters, which aims to highlight all the wineries that invest in improving their products.
 Creari Gambellara Classico Doc – Cavazza won 90 points and, like all wines that achieve a score higher than or equal to 90/100, the wine will be published in the international 5StarWines – The Book guide, in digital and paper format.

Artisanal limited production wine made with a local indigenous grape, handcrafted from specific, single 2 ha (5 ac) small plots facing southwest at an elevation of 240 m (787 ft).
