10 May One more step towards sustainability in our vineyards
This year we take one more step towards sustainable production of wine. In fact we decide to combat insect population without using harsh insecticides. We adopt a French revolutionary method of protecting grapevines called “sexual confusion”.
Then we place strategically throughout the vineyards 450 small capsules. Inside are tons of pheromones that saturate the area and confuse a male insect into not mating with the female of his species.
This process is time consuming and costly but extremely effective. This sustainable practice combat the insect without using harsh insecticides and protect our environment.
